Infinity Martial Arts on a role

Infinity Martial Arts club are on a role after claiming ten new world champions in the space of a month.

Ten students from the Yeovil based club travelled to Jamaica to represent England in the International Sports Kickboxing Association World Championships.

Chief Instructor Joe Hallett said of the achievement "This is massive for the club. I am so proud to call these amazing athletes my students."

Award for Bowls club

Ilminster Bowls Club were celebrating this week after winning prestigious national and county awards. The club was voted Club of the Year by Bowls England following on from being runners-up last year. 

The award was in recognition in the efforts shown in terms of promotion, increasing membership and working with the local community.

Yeovil Town Match Postponed

Yeovil Town's scheduled match against Lincoln City on Saturday November 17th. has been postponed due to international call-ups. The match will be played on a date to be announced in due course.

Thistlecrack and Native River head for Haydock

Milborne Port Trainer, Colin Tizzard, has decided to run both his stable stars Thistlecrack and Gold Cup winner Native River in the Betfair Chase at Haydock on Saturday 17th.

Tizzard said Thistlecrack will run provided the going is not heavy. But he is fit and will probably go to Haydock.

It will also see stable mate Native River's first run of the season.

Enable proves Adi right

Wonder horse, Enable, trained by John Gosden at Newmarket won the Breeders Cup Turf after a titanic battle with Magical ridden by Ryan Moore. But Frankie Dettoris was not going to be beaten as the magnificent mare got home by about half a length.

The double prix de l'arc de triomphe winner had been raved about on the Ninesprings Sports Zone and Adi Hopper's fancy did not let him down.

Yeovil Ladies first win in 2 yrs

Yeovil Town Ladies have won a competitive match for the first time since 2016, ending a run of 41 games without victory.
They beating Everton Ladies in Women's Super League yesterday.
Hannah Short's long-range strike before half-time was enough to give Yeovil the three points.
The Lady Glovers had not won since beating Sheffield two years ago.
They had lost 38 of their 41 games since then, drawing the other three.

Walking football at Huish Park

Yeovil Town have joined in the fast growing sport of walking football.

The club have joined forces with Yeovil Walking Football Club to promote the new version of the sport and in turn increase their commitment in the local Community.


The club hosted a demonstration session prior to their CheckaTrade clash with Plymouth Argyle last November with saw a marked increase in interest in the new form of the game.


With a membership of in the region of 50 the new club participate in the Somerset FA league and other local competitions .

 

North Perrott cricket signing

North Perrott Cricket Club has confirmed that New Zealand all-rounder Jack Henderson will be returning to the club again for next season. Henderson who contributed with the bat and ball last season scored nearly 700 runs and has started off in fine form back in New Zealand. Meanwhile, Perrott’s young batsman Alex Eckland has been performing well for Australien side Adelaide as he spends the winter with the Australian team.
