Children raise Money for Children in Need.

Children raise Money for Children in Need.

Nov 17, 2020

Pupils at St Margaret’s Primary School in Tintinhull near Yeovil have donated their own pocket money to raise £117 for Children in Need.

On Friday last week both children and staff wore brilliant yellow and started the morning by joining Jo Wicks in his 24-hour PE workout for the charity.

Throughout the day they learned how Children in Need supports children and their families and how they have different needs, and why it is OK to ask for help.

“As always our children were kind, generous and very eager to support families less fortunate than themselves,” says Headteacher, Hayley Robinson. “They’re a wonderful bunch!”

Kiera and Henley from Camelot Class said: “Wearing our own things instead of school uniform is great! It’s also an easy way to raise money and keeps us all smiling.

 “Helping people makes us happy!”

Another pupil, Jasper, added: “When you wear yellow and other bright colours, it makes you smile. Helping others makes me smile too!”

“The school has at its heart the sense of being one big family,” explains Hayley Robinson. “So our pupils are sensitive and compassionate about families who face difficulty.”
