Chard Town manager steps down

Chard Town manager steps down

Apr 17, 2020

Mark Parris has stepped down as Manager of Chard Town after a tough season for the side. He took on the role in June last year after the Robins were demoted to the Western League and the previous manager, Jamie Manley, departed. A number of the first team players left around the same time, leaving Parris to rebuild the squad. When the season was ended early by the Coronavirus outbreak Chard Town was in second from bottom place in the Somerset County League Premier Division.

Meanwhile, Chard Town under-18 Manager, Garry Perren has also stepped down, after 2-years in the role. His side enjoyed great success in the Western Counties Floodlight Youth League and could well have earned silverware this season had it not been cut short due to the virus pandemic.
