A Tattoo Parlour in Yeovil town centre has had its windows smashed for a third time. Police have issued CCTV images two men dressed in black throwing objects at the premises in Vincent Street in the hope that they will be recognised.

Shoemakers Clarks have announced more job cuts. 100 jobs are to go at the firm’s head offices in Street. This follows the 500 plus job losses worldwide announced by Clarks earlier in the year.

Traveller families have set-up camp off Preston Road in Yeovil. Several caravans, cars and other vehicles have pitched-up on a grass bank at Century Park, alongside the Leonardo airfield. South Somerset District Council says it’s aware of the situation and plans to visit the site. It’s the second time traveller families have set-up in Yeovil in the space of two months – the earlier incident was opposite Palmers Fish and Chip shop on Bunford Lane.

Police have charged a Yeovil man with drink driving and driving without insurance. Ramesh Manohar, of Lapwing Close, Yeovil, was stopped by Police while driving on the A303 near Amesbury.

A water sprinkler, vital to maintaining the pitch at Ilminster Town Football Club’s ground has gone missing. The Club says it has CCTV footage of the incident and has appealed for the sprinkler to be returned but, if not, then the matter will be reported as a theft to the Police.

Members of Crewkerne Rugby Club have completed 19 round trips to Twickenham, raising money for the NHS. The group clocked-up a total of 4,600 miles over 5-days, collecting two-and-a-half thousand pounds for Yeovil District Hospital.

In local sport – Chard Rugby Club has signed ex-Bristol Bears and England Under-20 utility back, Aaron Chapman. Luke Aplin has been appointed First Team captain for the new season.
