Nov 4, 2018

The Prime Minister has offered her support to Paddy Ashdown after it was revealed the former Yeovil MP has been diagnosed with cancer of the bladder.

Theresa May said she was very sorry to hear Lord Ashdown is being treated for cancer and wished him a speedy recovery.

In sending his good wishes, Liberal Democrat Leader, Vince Cable, described Paddy as one of the great British political figures of the past 30 years.

Tim Farran, Don Foster and Tessa Munt are amongst other leading Lib Dems to send their good wishes.

Lord Ashdown, who’s 77, is receiving specialist treatment at Yeovil District Hospital.
