Yeovil Town shamed by racist incident

Yeovil Town shamed by racist incident

Oct 20, 2019

Yeovil Town FC is to face further questioning over the alleged racist incident that led to Saturday’s FA Cup qualifying game at Haringey Borough being abandoned.

Both sets of players walked-off the field at the Coles Park Stadium in the 64th minute after the Haringey goalkeeper complained that fans behind his goal shouted racist abuse at him and threw a bottle that narrowly missed hitting his head.

With Yeovil leading by 1-goal-to-nil, the referee halted the match.

The Football Association now have to decide whether the game will be re-played together with any action they may take against either club.

In a statement, Yeovil Town say irrespective of the outcome of the investigation, they will not accept racism or discrimination of any kind.
