Big welcome for Queen in Bruton

Big welcome for Queen in Bruton

Mar 28, 2019

The Queen has been welcomed to Bruton by hundreds of by-standers including many children from local schools.
Her majesty arrived by Royal Train at Castle Cary station this morning and where she was greeted by the Lord Lieutenant of Somerset, Annie Maw.
Sam Henderson, of Castle Cary School, and Poppy Shaw, of Evercreech Primary School, presented the Queen with flowers.
The Queen left the station with the Lord Lieutenant of Somerset under a police escort for her first port of call – Manor Farm Stables in Ditcheat to meet champion trainer Paul Nicholls and his racehorses.
From there she went to Kings Bruton School to officially opened a new music centre marking the school’s 500th anniversary.
While at Kings, the Queen named a new police horse.
Her final visit was to the Houser and Wirth Gallery where she met schoolchildren taking part in an art workshop.
