New date for Lincoln match

Yeovil Town's home match against Lincoln City has been re-arranged to Tuesday 22nd. January with a 7.45pm kick off. The match was postponed due to International call-ups back in November.

Skiverton steps down

Yeovil Town have announced that long standing club legend Terry Skiverton has stood down from his position as Assistant Manager.

After nearly two decades at the club as a player and more latterly in a management role Terry has decided initially to take a sabbatical before exploring other coaching opportunities within the club.

Skiverton said : “After lots of consideration and with an extremely heavy heart, I have decided to step down as assistant manager of Yeovil Town Football Club. I feel it’s time for me to step aside and spend more quality time with my family that I have sacrificed in the nine-and-a-half years in my management roles before pursuing any new challenges in my professional career.

I would like thank the supporters for their support during my time as a player, manager and assistant manager. I have been at Yeovil Town FC for almost half of my life and I look forward to moving my relationship with the supporters over into my next chapter.”

All eyes on Cambridge

All eyes will be on Cambridge United’s Abbey Stadium this weekend as Darren Way and his Yeovil Town team seek to turn around their recent disappointing run.

One win in twelve games is relegation form and the poor run has seen fans booing the team off at the end of recent matches with manager Darren Way under constant pressure.

Yeovil Town currently sit in 20th. position on 21 points while their opponents Cambridge are 2 points worse.

Tune into the Saturday Sports Zone between 4.30 and 6 on Saturday for news of the match.

Ladies in trouble

Yeovil Town Ladies are in a similar position as their male counterparts losing two matches last week. On Sunday they lost 5-0 to West Ham Ladies and then on Wednesday evening they slumped to a 4-1 defeat against Brighton Ladies in the Continental Tyres Cup.

 

Goal of the month contenders

Yeovil Town Academy players Devon Arnold, Gabby Rogers and Declan Rose have been nominated for the League Football Education’s Goal of the month for November.

Two strikes at the beginning of November against Swindon from Arnold and Rose came in the 4-0 victory whilst the third was a consolation goal in the FA Youth Cup defeat against Cambridge. Votes can be cast on Twitter or www.ytfc.net

Chelsea far too good for Yeovil Ladies

Following on from their 2-1 vic tory Yeovil Town Ladies failed to make it two in a row when they were soundly beaten by Chelsea Ladies 5-0. The match had started reasonably well for the Glovers Ladies but slowly Chelsea took control and were 2-0 up by the half time break. Disaster was to strike minutes before the break when Nicola Cousins was sent off for a high tackle and from then on it was one way traffic. The Lady Glovers take on Manchester City at home on Sunday.

Greene expected back in the squad

Yeovil Town winger Jordan Green has recovered from his hamstring injury and is expected to be in the squad to travel to take on bottom of the table Macclesfield on Saturday. Francois Zoko is also expected to continue his recovery from injury against the bottom side in the division.

New training schedule for Warren

Yeovil Town defender Gary Warren, signed from Inverness Caledonian Thistle, in the summer will be undertaking a modified training regime in an effort cut out injuries the defender has been getting. Manager Darren Way said of the move “He’s a valuable asset and to offer him some protection we have rearranged his training schedule. Life down here is a lot different from Scotland where there are fewer matches.”

Yeovil Ladies first win in 2 yrs

Yeovil Town Ladies have won a competitive match for the first time since 2016, ending a run of 41 games without victory.
They beating Everton Ladies in Women's Super League yesterday.
Hannah Short's long-range strike before half-time was enough to give Yeovil the three points.
The Lady Glovers had not won since beating Sheffield two years ago.
They had lost 38 of their 41 games since then, drawing the other three.

Walking football at Huish Park

Yeovil Town have joined in the fast growing sport of walking football.

The club have joined forces with Yeovil Walking Football Club to promote the new version of the sport and in turn increase their commitment in the local Community.


The club hosted a demonstration session prior to their CheckaTrade clash with Plymouth Argyle last November with saw a marked increase in interest in the new form of the game.


With a membership of in the region of 50 the new club participate in the Somerset FA league and other local competitions .
